Study and Chat
In case you imagine our Study and Chat group is all about deep theological discussions, well, I’d have to tell you that it’s not quite like that. We usually start off with a bit of a laugh! Mostly likely you’ll find us drawing and colouring at the start of the session - but we’d be the first to say we haven’t got great artistic talent. Then we go on to our topic. At the moment we are thinking about ‘Contentment’. We began with a look at Ecclesiastes and soon realised it wasn’t written by Mr Happy. It made us think a lot about what makes for contentment and one of our group wrote the following:
Contentment - an inward trust in God’s mighty sovereignty and goodness that gives you peace and comfort within your heart, mind and soul regardless of what’s going on in your life. Sometimes we need to reach rock bottom before we allow God to fill us with His peace as we can’t go anywhere else but to trust in Him.
Paul found this truth too (Philippians 4:11-13).
I love our Study and Chat get-togethers. Come and join us if you would like. We meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 10am in the hall.
Every blessing, Tricia
