St. Michael and All Angels, Mill Lane, Sopley, Hampshire BH23 8ET
St. Michael's sits on a small hill overlooking the River Avon. Most of the church dates from the 13th century and it has been restored and added to several times over the years. It is open each day and has a real sense of peace, calm and the presence of God inside. A prominent feature of the church is the striking fresco of the Crucifixion of Christ. This was painted by J Emms in 1869 and has recently been restored to its former glory thanks to the fund raising efforts of The Friends of Sopley Church.
Because Sopley Mill (see http://sopleymill.co.uk/) is next door, we are delighted to host many weddings in our beautiful church. There is some more general information about these on the weddings page of this site. We try hard to make your special day as wonderful and memorable as it can be in the spiritual atmosphere of St. Michael & All Angels.
The church is open each day and visitors are very welcome.
